Among other things, her presentation highlighted the importance of incorporating housing as a central theme in population health research and policies, as it plays a large part in ensuring equitable outcomes for population health, be it in urban or rural settings.

A recap of the event is posted on the Geo-SDH Research Group’s website. The event – attended by about 40 professors, students, and academic staff – brought together excellent researchers from various departments and backgrounds, including Sociology, Epidemiology, Nutrition, Geography, Computer Science, and Nutrition, providing opportunities for an enlightening exchange of ideas and discussions. Themes and insights gathered from the event will be reported to the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR), you can follow the discussion themes of the rest of the day on the Geo-SDH Research Group’s Twitter thread.

We would like to thank the Geo-SDH research group and Dr. Nancy Ross for the opportunity and the truly insightful event!
