{"id":751,"date":"2017-11-13T13:22:25","date_gmt":"2017-11-13T18:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/myleneriva.ca\/?p=751"},"modified":"2021-04-22T17:05:02","modified_gmt":"2021-04-22T21:05:02","slug":"q2017update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myleneriva.ca\/fr\/2017\/11\/q2017update\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary data collection conducted in 14 communities of Nunavik for community component of Qanuilirpitaa? &#8211; the Nunavik Health Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lab members Melody Lynch, Marie Baron and Marie-Claude Lyonnais have returned from Nunavik after conducting primary data collection for the community component of <em>Qanuilirpitaa?<\/em> the Nunavik Health Survey. The team travelled to the 14 communities of Nunavik between August 16th and October 5th aboard the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen.<\/p>\n<p>The goals of the data collection for the community component were to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>identify and characterize community health resources in each village through short structured interviews with every resource;<\/li>\n<li>understand how Nunavimmiut view and understand community health in their communities through in depth semi-structured\/conversational interviews; and<\/li>\n<li>geo-locate community health resources in each community using a GPS, and take photos of each resource. This data will be used to display resources on an interactive map.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The idea for the community component&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">comes from the region itself, as one of Nunavimmiut\u2019s priorities for the follow-up of the Nunavik Health Survey was to consider health at the community scale, moving away from the focus on individual health and well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are now in the process of analyzing the data, and aim to present results to the communities as they become available.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery
